Tau Rho Icon (Staurogram)

The TauRho or the Staurogram (⳨), is a cross composed of a superposition of the Greek letters tau (Τ) and rho (Ρ). It was used in early Christian New Testament Manuscripts in place of the word “Cross”. By the early 4th Century it had taken its place among the Christian symbols, and is believed to have been a visual representation of Christ on the cross.
